Since 2013 Noel has been working as First Team Scout for Millwall Fc which involves assessing teams and individual player performances, delivering essential intelligence from across the Championship and Leagues 1 and 2, producing detailed reports and recommendations, feeding directly into the first team coach.

He is also Coaching at Academy Level for Notts County Fc where he is immediately transforming the style, drive and results both of the young team and the additional age groups which he has been asked to coach due to the success he has brought. His role includes key accountabilities included coaching and nurturing young players to deliver results; planning training schedules, combining over-arching club focuses with his strategies by analysing and providing constructive feedback to players and parents.

Having retired from the game in 2010 Noel brings a wealth of knowledge to both positions having played at the highest level in the Premier League and worked with a host of top flight managers including; Howard Wilkinson at Leeds United Fc, both Ron Atkinson and Gordon Strachan at Coventry City Fc, Bryan Robson, Terry Venables and Steve McClaren at Middlesbrough Fc, Mark McGhee, Dennis Wise and Ray Wilkins at Millwall Fc, George Burley at Derby County Fc. Noel has also represented his country at U18 winning the European Championships in 1993 and at representing England at U21 level under Kevin Keegan. These are managers and experiences that Noel has learnt from and took ideas to form his own coaching philosophy. This exposure, combined with his extensive knowledge of the game and first hand experience of the challenges of the modern game, places him in a unique and valuable position.

His recent retirement from the game is of a real benefit, ensuring that he has a strong rapport with players whilst demanding and commanding their respect. His strong understanding of how to nurture and motivate players to produce their best football, both individually and as a team, combined with his commitment to players achieving outstanding levels of fitness/physical conditioning, and his tactical nous enables him to instil strong values crucial to a successful side.
Noel is passionate about youth development and his successful track record at academy level, nurturing and developing young players and building winning teams means he is ideally placed to also help develop this core area and ensure its successful integration into a first team set up.
Noel has coached at clubs including Leeds United (alongside Dennis Wise and his 1st team) and Darlington (in a caretaker role) and have recently delivered exceptional results at Derby County and Notts County academy.
Noel has extensive contacts within the game which enable him to source new players from clubs across the football leagues.
Through his coaching and man-management skills and his extensive experience and enthusiasm for the game, he has many important assets to bring to a club’s set up and will, most crucially, deliver results. He can fit into a number of positions within a club from scouting & recruitment, youth development and a first team set up as a coach or manager.
